Firewall Object - Properties |
Additional controls of specific network traffic can be put into place by allowing or limiting commands unique to the various protocols.
The following dialog provides options to fine tune Internet Browser (HTTP) service capabilities.

HTTP Service Proxy Settings dialog
This option provides full compatibility with any HTTP application service by disabling the features of the service proxy. All HTTP commands will be processed without restriction by the Firewall Object.
This option is an easy and safe way to provide "read-only" capabilities for clients and exclude HTTP operations that would post or put to other servers or hosts. This service proxy would be best applied to a rule allowing outbound connections from internal clients to open HTTP sessions with external hosts, yet restrict them from writing to or uploading information to those external hosts.
This option gives granular control over common HTTP commands as defined in the Allowed Commands frame.
By checking or unchecking items on this list the processing of certain HTTP commands are allowed or disallowed.
When ever the Firewall Object rejects an HTTP command according to the settings of this rule, a custom message is returned to the requester's browser window. This message is unique and specifically applied for this rule only.
This user-definable field contains the HTML content to be displayed to a user when there is a violation of the HTTP commands rule. The administrator simply needs to edit the text between the HTML control parameters and save the changes.
This check box and the associated text box provide a method to update the Firewall Server Window with a appropriate display message that can be used for alerting the user to the status or condition of the Server.
